CIM System Implementation Handbook

The revised edition is in electronic format using Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows.

The handbook is written in a concise style so that it can be used as a hands-on guide by project managers, facilitators or consultants responsible for the implementation of an information and control system. The text can be used as an instructor guide. A complete set of visual support materials are included which can be easily converted into overhead transparencies. The illustrations have been created with Microsoft Power Point and imported as objects to the Microsoft Word for Windows document.

While this handbook has been written for implementation of production and inventory management systems, the principles apply to all business systems. The checklists can be modified by the user to apply to other business systems applications.

The handbook consists of nine chapters and an appendix containing 15 visuals and two forms for system implementation.

Chapter 9
bulletSystem Implementation -- Project Team Action -- Maintaining Momentum

The actions required for system implementation are summarized at the end of each chapter as a listing of "Things To Do". The exception is Chapter 9, System Implementation, which is in itself a listing of the actions required to execute the plan and install the system.

Usually there is a great deal of enthusiasm at the outset of the project. As time goes by the enthusiasm and expectations wane, sometimes to a point of complete apathy to the project. What does it take to see a systems project through to successful completion?

The handbook contains practical solutions and sound approaches. The techniques are tried and proven.
They work. They are based on the author's thirty years of experience in industry. Please see "about the author" below.

The Center guarantees a full refund of the cost if the information is not as described in this information sheet.
